Stress in our daily lives affects us physically and mentally. Physicians agree that most illnesses are caused by mental stress and emotional anxiety.
Tai Chi Ch’uan and Qigong (Chi Gung) are Mind / Body health arts developed in China that are excellent for stress management, rehabilitation of your body and improving your Quality of Life.
You will learn how to correctly breathe and relax, reduce tension, and improve your posture, balance, flexibility, coordination and focus.
These are gentle, non-impact Internal Arts based on proper body structure and alignment, complete relaxation and how to allow your mind and body to work harmoniously so that you may move “effortlessly”.
Among the many benefits of these arts include: better circulation, balanced blood pressure, gentle rehabilitation of knee, spine, and shoulder, helping to break the chronic pain cycle, boosting of the immune system, and increased energy.
Because of the soft, flowing movements, Tai Chi is practiced daily by people of all ages; including individuals well into their 80’s. Tai Chi is especially beneficial for Seniors because of its practice of strong posture, mindful balance, and increasing range of movement.
Curriculum includes the traditional Yang style Form, practicing various Chi Gung (Qigong) Sets, and applying Tai Chi principles and skills in two-person drills (push hands).
